    Re: INDUCTION HOB

haven't got a clue, but that is a good price,
I have been using single induction hob's for the last couple of years, the reduction of my electric bill is testament to the energy saving.plus i can run an extension lead out side when the weather is nice and cook out there.

            Re: INDUCTION HOB

Alternating current in the hob top creates a magnetic field which 'induces' a current in the pan. Metal of the pan has resistance, so that generates heat. Same way any heating electrical element does.

Or to put it another way, I can't use any of my original range of Jamie Oliver saucepans on an induction hob

He's since got a new range which is compatible with induction stuff.

I've got a traditional AGA which can't handle this 'induction' saucepan nonsense either.

I don't know what your plans are for the future of your property but my tenants would freak-out if they find their saucepans won't work to NASA's specification (or whatever space station inspired the induction hob silliness).

I've only installed an induction hob in one property by mistake (the appliance looked cool in the online brochure). Never again.

I think it's aluminium pans you can't use, they have to be copper or steel or summat...?
