  • Things overheard...

I tend to listen out for inspiration for stories (sounds better than I'm a nosy bint who earwigs!).

These are my best from the cinema:

    Before Sweeny Todd -
    Girl: Why's it an 18?
Boy: Well, it's got him killing people and baking them in pies.
Girl: OMG, I thought it was a fairy story.

    Before Munich:
Boy 1: So, what's this about?
    Boy 2: Well, in Berlin
Boy 1: Don't you mean Munich?
Boy 2: Oh, yeah, that makes more sense.

    After Pride and Prejudice:
Old woman: It was good but it's a shame they used so many lines from the TV series.

Tonight, after a gig (which is what prompted me to start this thread).

Girl 1: Have you been to the o2 Academy in Leeds?
Girl 2: Yeah to see the Levellers, but it was full of kn0bheads moshing. (You probably have to be a music fan to get that - it'd be impossible to mosh to the Levellers. Their fans tend to get stoned and swap tofu tips).

At the theatre, after the first half of Grapes of Wrath.
Girl (crying) I hope it doesn't get any worse, I don't think I could handle it. Me and her boyfriend just shared a 'look'.

    Talking of earwigging...

There was a mum in the school playground today going on about taking her kid to Peppa Pig World in October.

She was blabbing on to another mum about being the 1st person from the school to take their kid there and how the kid is going to love telling everyone about it etc etc...

I turned around and said 'We were there in May' and walked off

If that's what pigs look like these days, it seems a bit late to object to GM food.

I've got a piccy similar to your one but I was more interested in the guy 'looking after' Peppa and George - he was so hot he was almost on fire

Do such plushies need much "looking after"?
                  • They don't need to be fed.
                  • They don't need to be mucked out.
                  • But they might needs to be prised apart if they take to yiffing each other.

They need 'looking after' because 3-5 year olds can get slightly out of control...

But at that age, they'd not be able to scritch properly, let alone start yiffing.

H'mmmmmmmmm I thought world's most obnoxious pig title was reserved for Angela Knight of the British Bankers Association who is in a permanent state of PMT about appalling lowlife like us (mind you she looked a bit past that stage of life last night on the Welsh news).

Yes m8 I agree there can be no one worse than her, just the look on her face on TV wants me to put my fist through the screen.
