  • Balance transfers when its not the account holder

    Evening,

Not sure the title is the best; i was wondering if its permitted for someone other than the original account holder to transfer that balance to their credit card?
i.e Peter has a balance on a 15% card and Paul offers to transfer it to his on his new 0%

From memory it asks for the type of card and the 16-digit account number although i've never bothered to read the t&c's - just happy to wipe one balance over to 0%

    Thanks
    SA Gold

It can work, yes. The account name isn't used as much nowadays - it's the numbers that matter

    try it and tell us

Never asked the name when I have completed them (for customers) before - was never part of the process.

As Niddy says, just a case of tapping in account numbers.

Just remmeber that you (assuming you are not transferring the balance) become responsible for the debt.

That's excellent news for them! Thanks for letting me know. I am going to ask the Mrs if she has any pre-approved stuff from Lloyds when she logs in (they were doing 21 month interest free cards at one time )

I could be really frugal and transfer to a very old card
