      Werent they receiving loads of complaints about the state of £5.00 notes ? I used to put them in birthday and christmas cards for the kiddies but stopped when they were getting so tatty. I think the BoE printed loads more and along with complaints about the minimum withdrawal from ATMS, I think that is why we are now seeing the £5.00 notes again.

        I have noticed that some banks (Barclays) tell you what notes are available but then start the list for withdrawal at £20, you then have to go to >other amount< to put in the lower amount you want.
